The Poetry on Friday Poets Press was written when an old University friend and I discovered we liked talking in verse. He threw down a challenge- to write four lines a day, and much poetry was written that year.
Given we hadn't spoken in 15 years, verse was a complicated , ridiculous and inspiring way of catching up.
Misunderstandings flourished and common sense didn't.
The way I remember it our best writing days were always on a Friday. I learned from that experience the value of artistic collaboration however informal, and the strange magic of a deadline.
If you want to join in here there is plenty of room at Friday Poets Press.
I'll make you a page and we can throw on a beret and hang out.
