In those days

A girl wore bangles

Hoop earrings filled with light

And a cassette player walk

Rollerskating was a fast ride

Flying was possible

Car windows had handles

Pop stars wore sneakers

Brooding was gorgeous

Falling was softer

Lipstick was messy

Left was that way

Boyfriends had hair like space gods

And the cutting edge was still beautiful
